Estonia - September 2014

The Volkswagen e-Up! had a personal best last month

Back To The Golden Days - Chapter Three

44 electric cars were sold last month, placing the EV Share at an amazing 1.49%, With September beating the month before by two units and marking the fourth consecutive sales growth, will this market reach the 2% share until the end of the year? Fingers crossed...

The Nissan Leaf is the usual leader, with 33 registrations last month, followed at a distance by Tesla Model S and VW e-Up!, with 4 units, which allowed the german city-car to rise to #4 in the YTD ranking, changing positions with the Renault Zoe.

  1. The sales figures are impressive for tiny Estonia.

The Norway of the Baltics for sure! With a GDP per capita only 19% of Norway.

  2. In Estonia there is a good mix of incentives for buy electric cars (18.000€) and one of the best fast chargers network of the world. In august the money for this year ended so I guess the next months we will not see better numbers than this. We will have to wait till next year.

Most of this cars are in the capital, Tallinn, and for 400.000 population you can spot electric cars in every street of the city.
